Facebook Sequel?

An employee from Facebook is reportedly rolling out a new social platform on the iPhone next week called ‘Path’.  And who is one of the biggest investors? Remember Justin Timberlake’s character from “The Social Network”, the creator of Napster? That’s right, Shawn Fanning is a co-founder and chairman in this new company going up against Facebook in the social networking market.  

‘Path’ sets itself apart from Facebook by only allowing users to have 50 friends, which creates a more intimate user experience where people feel more connected.  At least, that’s the idea… and if the idea is successful, I’m looking forward to “The Social Network 2” coming out in 2012.  For a more in depth write-up on the story, here is what WIRED had to say.
